2011 "King of Murrells Inlet Fishing Challenge” June 3rd and 4th at Crazy Sister Marina.
This is the second year of our expanded Flounder tournament to include a “Captains Choice” optional second day of fishing and a awesome near shore King Mackerel division. This year we have also included a Flounder and a Kingfish Calcutta with the winner taking home 85% of the purse in each division and MI Rotary retaining 15% for local charities. This marks the 12th year we have conducted a Fishing Tournament in Murrells Inlet.
Dates and times
The Tournament will begin Friday, June 3 at 6:00am. Participants wishing to fish on the first day, Friday, June 3th must be present at the captains meeting on Thursday June 2, at 6:00pm. There will be a second captains meeting at 6:00pm, Friday June the 3rd for those wishing to fish on Saturday, June 4th. Also this year the Murrells Inlet Rotary Club is teaming with Murrells Inlet 2020 to bring you the third annual Murrells Inlet Fish Drop. This event will be held at Crazy Sister Marina at 7:30 PM on Saturday, June 4th. Approximately 500 wooden fish will be hoisted in the air then dropped on the ground on top of a bull’s eye. The three fish closest to the bull’s eye win cash prizes totaling $1750.00. The Fish Drop will follow the tournament awards ceremony on Saturday.
